See All ReviewsService was ok food was not to great I ordered an horchata and it was expired. My husband got Yuca con chicharrón and the chicharrón was over cooked hard to chew. I got the carne asada it was ok the rice was mushy and the tortillas seemed to have been reheated. I went to pay and the prices were way more than what the menu said also she included her tip with out asking. There is no sign stating the tip would be added automatically and it was just 2 of us. There card system didn’t work I had to Zelle her. Over all this was my first and last time coming to try this place out. I should have figured food wasn’t great there was no customers.
This is my second time going. The food was just as delicious as last time but unfortunately it didn’t have much meat in any of the items we got. The pastelitos had about 4 pieces of ground beef which was about the size of a button and the rest was potato but it wasn’t even filled completely. The chicharron pupusa had just thoughts and cheese. The food is tasty but they need to improve on the quality of the product they make because it’s not worth driving 30 minutes to get such little amounts of meat. It’s like they fill you up with beans and flour. I never got a receipt because they only accept zelle which goes directly to the owner or cash.
I always try to eat local when I can. I visited this restaurant for the first time this past Sunday around 4 pm. The restaurant was completely empty but we were greeted and seated by this young lady. She didn't speak English very well, but we were able to order our food. A soup, chicken quesadilla, 2 single tacos, a large horchata and a cup of water. When it was time to pay, I went to the cashier table. She typed something on the register and told me my total. I was surprised at how high the bill was, but I figured I just totally forgot the prices. She ran my card, I added tip and signed the receipt. I then asked her to give me the detailed receipt. At this point she froze up because she knew, that in knew, something was wrong. I didn't want to make a scene so I took the receipt and walked out. I checked the receipt in my truck and noticed she charged us for "Fiji" water, which we never were given, and she also added auto gratuity. I have never heard of a table of 2 getting a 15% auto gratuity. This is also not listed on the menu. I am not looking for a refund. Just to make other customers aware. I'll just spend my money somewhere else.
